The ultimate test of a prospective relationship is a kiss. If you don´t feel anything he is really just a friend, if you feel something, well, you are beyond friends.
But what if you decide to kiss him and you feel nothing but he feels something. It gets you much deeper into shit than you have been before. So, should you try kissing him, when you are not sure?

I once kissed a friend who was in love with me and I didn´t feel sasazu but he did and it was not good.. Hence my worries.
